Supporting your child

Supporting Your Child at Academy XP

Practical guidance and tips for parents and carers to help your child succeed in distance learning.

Establish a Routine

Set a consistent daily schedule with start and end times for learning. Include breaks, meals, and downtime to help your child manage energy and focus.

Create a Learning Space

Provide a quiet, well-lit area for your child to work. Ensure devices are charged and materials are ready. Minimising distractions supports concentration.

Stay Involved

Check in with your child daily. Discuss what they learned, celebrate successes, and help them reflect on challenges. Positive engagement encourages motivation.

Encourage Breaks & Activity

Short breaks, movement, and exercise help maintain focus and wellbeing. Encourage outdoor activity or light stretching between learning tasks.

Support Digital Literacy

Ensure your child is comfortable using the platforms (Minecraft, Roblox, Figma). Assist with troubleshooting and encourage exploration within safe guidelines.

Encourage Reflection

Support your child in reviewing their work and thinking about what went well or could improve. Reflection builds self-awareness and independent learning skills.
